Don’t throw out your tired and shabby furniture - come instead to our restoration workshop!
Specially designed to introduce you to the basic skills and applications that bring new life to old favourites.
You will try your hand at sustainable preparation techniques including scraping, sanding, and the use of wire wool. You will learn to recognise solid and veneered surfaces and understand the differing techniques required for their preparation.
Once you’ve got these skills under your belt, we’ll show you how to select and apply the appropriate finishes, including the application of wax, oil and varnish.
You will gain the confidence to transfer these skills and knowledge to your home projects.
The cost of the workshop is £50
Everything you need for the workshop will be provided including tea and delicious home baked cake.
We may need to contact you ahead of the workshop for the purposes of instructions, reminder of booking and parking etc. Please see the Privacy notice on the Hospice of St Francis website regarding how we protect your data.
